Dealers need players and vice-versa.

They see different faces everyday. Faces that exude joy, pain, loneliness, sadness, confusion and ignorance. Dealers have compassion towards players but do not allow empathy to set into their lives. Empathy leaves a person drained of his own emotions and takes the problems as his own.

Potential dealers undergo training under the tutelage of expert casino dealers. They are taught the rudiments of the game but they do not possess the skills of strategy. Instructions are given for the shuffling of cards with ease,, distribution of cards with precision and order from a card dispenser.

Also included in the training course is the proper handling and flipping of a card. The gathering of cards after a game is a play of hands. The dealer holds one card that serves to pick up the player's card, A very interesting showmanship is in the counting of chips. For example, the player wins $500, the dealer picks up $500 worth of chips and lays them on the table in a row with a sweeping right motion. This act is done twice to avoid a mistake in counting the chips as a payoff for a bet.

Dealers move their fingers and hands with dexterity and swift motions. They are fast to move on the gaming table and games are done depending on the players call. Mathematics play an important factor in all the games so that it is a must for dealers to be good at numbers and possess a good retentive memory. Recording the wins of the casino is jotted down on a piece of paper with blue and red marks.

Both female and male trainees are given the same training in all card games. However it seems that there are more male dealers for the throw dice.

Dealers are accorded much respect by the players. Players are set at ease when they can chat with the dealer in between games or they can inject a joke or two to lighten up a tension building up at the gaming table. Their voices are toned down to a volume that can not disturb the next table. This is also the only time that players and dealers mingle with each other.

They look impeccably clean and smart in their dealers bright and colorful uniform. It adds to the confidence buildup on the part of the players. The casino distinguishes them as worthwhile assets to give the best deals to the house.

As a token for camaraderie or good service and attention the dealers accept tips which helps them increase their income. A gracious winner or a satisfied player will most likely give a tip.

Sometimes dealers come across players that are rude and inconsiderate. Irritability and confusion sets in but dealers retain their composure and are disciplined to remain calm. They protect the interest of the casino. More so that for their honesty they retain the good name of the casino. They are instrumental in bringing in the same players back to increase the profit of the casino.

After a day or nights work the dealers rest in their designated rooms. A sense of loyalty and dedication for work is expected for all dealers at all casino houses.

A player's series of winning streaks puts a dealer in a good light . The player may actually consider the dealer as his favorite and it is not a bad idea at all for a player to anoint his dealer as his lucky charm.
